The Inner Wall is an indoor rock climbing gym located at 234 Main St. New Paltz, NY (behind The Rite Aid Pharmacy). The gym's location is ideal and just outside the world-famous Shawangunk Ridge ("The Gunks"). We are a family oriented climbing facility for adults and children ages 6 and older. Children age 14 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian unless they are enrolled in our after school or summer camp programs.
Our current Winter Hours are:
Monday through Friday: 2pm - 9pm
Saturday and Sunday: 12pm - 9pm
Rock climbing (top-roping) requires two people, the "Climber" and the "Belayer" (rope safety person), as well as climbing shoes, harnesses and chalk. Belayer's must be at least 14 years old and must be trained and/or approved to belay by an Inner Wall staff member. Shoes, harnesses and chalk are available for a daily rental fee. The Inner Wall Staff is available to belay individuals without partners (with prior reservations) for an additional fee.
Climbers, age 14 or above, may also "Traverse" or "Boulder" These are individual activities that require shoes and chalk only.
Walk- ins welcome. Please call for reservations for groups of 10 or more, birthday parties and scout outings.
The Inner Wall celebrated its 21th anniversary in January of this year. Our operation is now in full swing for our upcoming 2015-2016 season.
