Frequently Asked Questions:
Is
it safe?
Yes, very safe. Everyone new gets safety training. The equipment is inspected
routinely.

my kid?
Kids love to climb. Any kid who wants to climb can. We have easy walls for them.
Do I bring
my own gear?
You can bring your own gear if you have it, but we have everything you need
in rentals.
What's involved?
Well, the first time you come to The Inner Wall, you will sign our insurance
waiver, pay, get shoes & harness, receive a safety instruction where we
show you how to use the ropes. You then can climb any wall you want.
I'm not in
very good shape, can I do it?
It doesn't take a lot of strength to have fun at The Inner Wall. Over time,
you will build more strength, also skill. (It also helps to eat your spinach).
I drove by
and saw your sign, but where is the inner wall?
The Inner Wall hides behind Eckerd Drug. Drive around back.
What are
the holds made of?
Most holds are made of plastic, some are clay, some are rock, some are wood.
Do you need
upper body strength?
The secret to good climbing is good footwork. Use your feet first, then
your arms.
Can anyone
do it?
Just about anyone can do it. Just want to.
Can my kid
belay me?
If a kid knows the proper belay technique, it is ok. We will teach kids
from about 10-11 years old, depending on their maturity level. Belayers are
anchored to the ground, so the disparity in weight doesn't matter.
What's belaying?
Belaying is when someone holds the rope with a friction device to keep the
climber safe.
Do
I climb the ropes?
No, you climb the walls. The ropes are for safety and lowering.
